Why is my hair turning yellow?

When you have dyed your hair ash blonde, polar blonde (Nordic blonde), platinum blonde or because it is naturally gray or white, it is possible that it will turn yellow or turn into copper tones. The causes can be different:

1 - The natural pigments of the hair: When you lighten hair, especially dark hair, you remove the natural pigments that give it its color. However, yellow pigments are often the last to be removed completely, which can lead to an unwanted yellow tint.

2 - Exposure to external elements: Blonde hair can be sensitive to external elements such as UV rays from the sun, chlorine from swimming pools, limescale from water, pollution, etc.

3 - Pigment regeneration: Over time, the color deposited during coloring or bleaching can fade. When the artificial blonde pigments break down, the natural yellow pigments can reappear and give the hair a yellow tint.

4 - An unsuitable hair routine: Poor maintenance of colored hair can also lead to bleaching and yellowing. The use of inappropriate hair products, such as shampoos containing sulfates or harsh ingredients, or the lack of regular care can affect the color and leave blonde hair with a yellow tint.

WHICH HAIR ROUTINE TO CHOOSE FOR YELLOWING HAIR?

First of all, it is important to favor sulfate-free hair products adapted to your need to reduce yellow or brassy tones.

NEUTRALISE

Purple or blue shampoos neutralize yellow and brassy tones thanks to purple pigments that cancel out the yellow color present on your hair. They are able to counterbalance the unwanted brassy highlights that "warm" cool blondes and interfere with the purity of white and gray hair.

REVIVE
